Dr. Alison Zagona is Assistant Professor of Special Education at the University of Kansas. Her research is focused on inclusive education and strategies for supporting students with extensive support needs to experience success and full inclusion in general education classrooms and natural environments. Dr. Zagona is specifically focused on investigating literacy instruction and adaptations for students with extensive support needs in both elementary and postsecondary school settings. She also investigates the perspectives and experiences of general and special education teachers in inclusive classrooms. Finally, Dr. Zagona’s research is also focused on postsecondary education and learning opportunities for students with extensive support needs.
