Biography

Glennda McKeithan is an Associate Teaching Professor and program associate for the KU ASD MSE and Graduate Certificate programs. Dr. McKeithan has 20+ years of experience working with students with high functioning autism in both general and special education settings. Dr. McKeithan is familiar with the characteristics of children with autism and has experience with assessments, social-behavioral interventions, and curriculum development strategies. She has extensive background in teacher support via faculty advisor, education consultant, teacher mentor, coordinating teacher, educational leadership, and college supervision. Dr. McKeithan earned a BA in English as well as a MEd in Special Education and PhD, in Curriculum & Instruction from North Carolina State University. Her research interests include meeting the needs of students with high functioning Autism in general education settings, the practical application of evidence-based interventions, high-leverage practices and developing effective online instruction.
