Masters and doctoral level graduate students at KU who are working on research and projects are encouraged to submit proposals. Proposals from all disciplines are welcome.
Why submit a proposal?
To bring together students, community members, and professionals at and outside of the University of Kansas to share ideas, collaborate, and learn from one another. Presenters will receive constructive feedback from volunteer faculty discussants to support development of their work and presentation skills.
What types of proposals are accepted?
We welcome proposals for dramatic performances and art displays, as well as poster and paper presentations.
What is needed to be submit?
A 100-250 word abstract, three keywords that describe your presentation, and contact information.
What are the specifications for breakout sessions?
You should prepare 30 minutes total of presentation (including time for questions).
Total session length will be 60 minutes; you will be paired with another presenter who has a complementary topic.
If you will use a computer-based presentation (e.g., Powerpoint), you must bring your own laptop. Mac users will need to bring their own adapters.
What will be provided for me?
A projector and/or monitor; VGA/HDMI cable
What are the specifications for posters?
Posters should be 36” by 48” (length x width) and mounted on a display board. Posters will not be attached to the wall, hence the need for a display board.
Where can I get a display board?
36” by 48” (width x length) display boards are available in many locations (click here for an example).
How do I print my poster?
Posters may be printed through the School of Education’s Learning Resource Center at for a cost of $15. Please allow at least 72 hours to complete your request. Posters may also be printed through Jayhawk Ink or other sources.
